Do remember where you were when first heard THAT song? You know, the one that sounded just right on the very first listen.
I first heard “Little Talks” by OMAM on a misty morning in March of 2012, while driving through the hills of West Virginia. It was a perfect match of state and musical selection; West Virginia is THE venue for what I call “mountain music”. By that I mean music that is rich, deep, full of harmonies/echoes – things that go well with mountains, trees, woods, Robert Frost poetry and all that. In short – I LOVED IT!
When I returned home, I searched frantically for the OMAM album (that did not yet exist in North America). 1 year, and 2 (almost 3) Top 20 songs later…it’s here, and I have listened to the WHOLE album. And I like what I’ve heard. It’s a little Lumineers, a little Housemartins (look ‘em up), and a whole lotta perfect for a mountain drive, or a cool winter’s night with a glass of red.
I hope you enjoy it just as much.
